International Women’s Day in the Philippines was marked by protests of the various women’s groups walking the streets of Manila to call for an end to the widespread acts of violence against women, March 08.
In line with this, Clod Winter Sun Yambao, a campaigner and one of the protesters, share his experience about how his Women’s Day end.
In Yambao’s facebook post, around 11 in the evening when he decided to eat his dinner in a carinderia and the said store was listening to the episode of DJ Chacha of MOR 101.9.
“Naka-tune in ang carinderia sa MOR 101.9 ng panahon na iyon. Habang kumakain, pilit sumisiksik ang boses ni DJ Chacha at ang kanyang irresponsible at ignoranteng advise sa ginahasang menor de edad,” he said.
Based on the story of Yambao, the minor had been raped by her uncle constantly and the victim have to stop her education and later get into a relationship with a lesbian.
The minor shared her story with DJ Chacha, however, the responses of the DJ were associated to be a victim-blamer response.
According to Yambao, the DJ said that the fact that the victim was in a relationship as now, it is clear she already moved on with how she was raped by his uncle.
“The mere fact na nakapag-jowa ka ng lesbian ay naka- move on kana sa rape experience mo. Ang dami mong kalokohan tapos delayed ka na sa pag-aaral kasalanan mo yang choices mo na yan”, Yambao shared on how the DJ reply to the caller.
Furthermore, Yambao requested to release the raw and unedited Facebook live airing of the show since it was deleted and he wants the episode to be reviewed by the Kapisanan ng mg Broadcaster ng Pilipinas (KBP).
Moreover, the DJ was also associated with shaming the Lesbian partner of the minor.
“Madami pang dapat pag-ibayuhin sa pakikipaglaban sa karapatan ng mg kababaihan laban din mismo sa misogynist at hetero-patriyarkal na babae na katulad ni DJ Chacha!”, ended Yambao in his post.
