Dogs Are Friends, Not Food: Olympian's SoKor puppy adoption draws flak from netizens

(Photo credits: Ahn Young Joon) Four years ago, American skier Gus Kenworthy touched people's hearts when he brought home with him a stray dog and her four puppies after the Russian Winter Games. Last week together with his boyfriend Matt, the 26-year-old once again rescued a pup, this time from a dog farm in South Korea where the Olympics were held.  Gus then took to social media the unflattering conditions being suffered by the canines in dog farms, further criticizing the dog meat industry of the country by a hashtag, "#DogsAreFriendsNotFood" in an Instagram post.  But after posting his sentiments with a series of pictures showing his new pet dog now named Beemo, Kenworthy’s feat was questioned by some netizens, sparking an online debate. Was Gus’ gesture a compassion advocacy, or a show of Western imposition on other culture? ...

Deal With Belly Padilla

by Leila Marie Rodriguez Bela Padilla gained the nickname  Belly Padilla  as netizens jokingly commented on her recent Instagram post, pinpointing her tummy. She responded to the comments saying that they have to 'deal with it'. Padilla wrote in a tweet, "Shocked by the number of comments on my IG post, pointing out that I have a belly. Yes [,] I do. It has a layer of muscles that I worked hard for in the gym and a layer of fat from the food I enjoy to eat. Deal with it. PLUS I'm seated." The Meet me in St. Gallen star replied to the comments, criticizing her tummy, that it was just like everyone else's. Her tweet was supported by numbers of netizens. Her comedian friend, Mikey Bustos, replied to her tweet saying Padilla is beautiful. Sylvester Stalone dead hoax stirs the social media to disturbance By Christine De Jesus This fake picture of Stalone circulating on the internet suspecting to be on his “final days.” The “Rocky Star,” even his brother disaffirmed this rumors on their social account saying this is sick and demented dead hoax. However, it stirs the whole social media causing disturbance to every fan he had in the world. Stallone posted on his Instagram to prove that he is “alive and still punching,” despite the spread of false rumors. He posted a video that validates that he is not dead. The video revealing himself with his two daughters, with a caption: “Locking my daughters outside during a slight hail storm…It’s so great to be back from the Dead!!!” This isn’t the first time he had been reported to same rumors of an early demise.
